Israir to offer subsidized Eilat flights for residents

Israir, Israel's second-largest airline, will offer subsidized flights from Eilat to central Israel for city residents, the Transportation Ministry announced on Monday. The initiative will provide at least four daily flights at a reduced one-way fare of approximately $33 (99 shekels). This measure aims to strengthen Eilat's connection to the rest of the country, facilitating residents' access to essential services. Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri stated, "Ensuring continuous air service to and from Eilat is a fundamental prerequisite for Eilat residents’ access to healthcare, economic, educational and academic services." Transportation Minister Miri Regev added that Eilat residents "deserve high-quality, accessible and affordable transportation links to the center of the country."
