'It never happened': Norman Finkelstein challenges Oct. 7 sexual violence on Hasan Piker’s podcast

During an appearance on Hasan Piker's podcast, author Norman Finkelstein challenged claims of sexual violence during the October 7, 2023, attacks, citing Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy's research which references an archive of 10,000 photographs and digital segments. Finkelstein argued that if such an extensive archive, requiring 1,800 hours to review, contained no evidence of sexual violence, then "it never happened." He contended that if Hamas intended to terrorize, they would have posted such images if they existed. Dr. Elkayam-Levy responded, stating, "History has a way of isolating those who deny documented atrocities," and affirmed that the Civil Commission concluded Hamas systematically used sexual violence, supported by an "unprecedented body of evidence" including survivor testimony and authenticated visual documentation.
