Jerusalem Reform synagogue egged on Rosh Hashanah in second attack in a month

A Reform synagogue in Jerusalem, Kol HaNeshama, was egged by Jewish youths during Rosh Hashanah services, marking the second attack in a month. The incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, was captured by security cameras, and a police complaint has been filed. Rabbi Debi Shoua-Haim stated that some comments from the youths were "homophobic and bordered on harassment," calling the incident an "escalation." This follows a previous break-in a month prior where artwork was damaged and Pride flags were torn down. Another Reform synagogue, Darchei Noam in Ramat Hasharon, was also attacked recently. The Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism criticized the lack of arrests, stating, "This is violence against Jews for the way they choose to practice Judaism." Kol HaNeshama is increasing security but affirmed its commitment to "openness and acceptance of every person."
