Jerusalem synagogue vandalized again on Yom Kippur

The Kol Haneshama egalitarian synagogue in Jerusalem was vandalized for the fourth time in a month on Yom Kippur morning, with intruders removing a pride flag from the sanctuary. This incident follows previous attacks, including egg throwing and broken windows, targeting the Reform synagogue. During Rosh Hashanah, Jewish youth reportedly pelted the synagogue with eggs. Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Yossi Havilio addressed the congregation, expressing municipal support, and a new Pride flag was raised. Rabbi Oded Mazor also read a message from Mayor Moshe Lion, who expressed "shock" at the attacks and pledged city support. The synagogue has been targeted previously for its support of the LGBTQ community, including a 2018 incident where a rock was thrown during Simchat Torah celebrations.
