Jewish Democrats back Michigan A-G Dana Nessel’s decision to skip state party convention

During a televised antisemitism roundtable, Nessel stated, "I don't feel safe going. I feel like my presence isn't going to be welcome." She also mentioned filing a formal complaint within the party regarding an official who allegedly called her a neo-Nazi. Jewish Democrats, including Jessica "Decky" Alexander, chair of the Michigan Jewish Democratic caucus, expressed sympathy for Nessel's decision, with Alexander stating, "I don't blame AG Nessel for not wanting to go." This decision follows previous turmoil at a party endorsement convention where a candidate was booed and an attendee allegedly targeted a Jewish husband with an antisemitic slur, raising alarm among Jewish Democrats.
