Jewish teacher, mother of four, dies in Long Island car accident

Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old Jewish teacher and mother of four, died on Friday after her car lost control and plunged into her swimming pool in Hewlett, N.Y. Rahmani, who was a teacher and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, was able to call for help but died in an ambulance en route to the hospital. Her death was announced by the Irving Place Minyan, a Modern Orthodox synagogue in Woodmere, N.Y., where her husband, Matthew Rahmani, serves as president.
