A military source indicated that the IDF intercepts approximately 50% of smuggled items, warning, "If they succeed in smuggling weapons, they can also succeed in smuggling a terrorist." The new fence, featuring advanced sensors and costing tens of millions of shekels, is expected to be completed by early 2028, with defense sources emphasizing that Israel is also increasing proactive intelligence collection.
