Jordan under Iranian fire as Trump vows revenge for every US soldier killed

Jordan is increasingly becoming a central battleground in the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran, experiencing repeated missile and drone attacks targeting American forces stationed there. On Monday evening, Jordanian air defenses intercepted three Iranian missiles, following earlier attacks including four missiles fired towards Aqaba on Sunday, with interceptions seen over Eilat, Israel. Two days prior, Jordanian jets shot down four drones. These incidents have transformed Jordan from a strategic rear base into an exposed frontline state, with military bases hosting U.S. forces becoming major targets. U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning, stating, "Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay for that killing many times over!" This directive was reportedly passed to top defense officials. The deadliest strike thus far hit Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, killing two American soldiers and leaving a third missing, bringing the total U.S. casualties to 17 killed and approximately 430 wounded since the conflict resumed.
