'Judea is awakening': settlers reportedly attack Palestinian village, torch homes

Five Palestinians, including a woman and a child, were wounded in a reported settler attack in Khirbet Tuba, Masafer Yatta, in the southern West Bank overnight Wednesday to Thursday. Palestinian media reported that Israeli civilians attacked residents, set fire to five structures, damaged infrastructure, and vandalized a solar energy system. Graffiti reading “The land of Judea is awakening” was found at the scene. The IDF confirmed troops were dispatched after reports of Israeli civilians setting homes on fire and attacking Palestinians, stating, “The IDF strongly condemns incidents of this kind, including harm to residents, among them women and children.” Police are investigating the incident, and suspects fled before forces arrived. This incident follows an announcement that an indictment is expected against a 16-year-old for assaulting a Palestinian woman and animal abuse in the same area in May.
