Kuwaiti air defenses activated as Iran targets US airbase, Iranian media says

Kuwaiti air defense systems were activated Thursday evening to intercept "hostile Iranian drone threats," according to the Kuwaiti army. Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that Iran launched drone and missile attacks targeting the Al-Salem airbase, a significant operational hub for US forces in the region, and that the base's Patriot air defense systems were activated. The Kuwaiti military stated, "if explosion sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks." Additionally, the Abdali border crossing between Kuwait and Iraq was subjected to "repeated targeting by hostile drones," resulting in material damage but no human injuries, as confirmed by Defense Ministry Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi.
