Kuwaiti power plant ablaze as Iran hits US Gulf allies

Iran launched drone and missile attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan on Sunday, following an eighth consecutive night of US strikes on Iranian cities. Kuwaiti authorities reported a fire at a power and water plant due to an attack, and damage to a second facility. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have delivered “heavy blows” to US bases in Jordan and Kuwait, while the Iranian army targeted a US ammunition depot and air defense radars. Bahrain thwarted missile and drone attacks, and Jordan shot down three of four Iranian missiles. These attacks are retaliatory, following US strikes aimed at punishing IRGC forces for earlier attacks in Jordan that killed US service members and degrading Iran’s ability to threaten shipping. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi called the US attack on the Darkhovin nuclear plant a “dangerous assault” on civilian infrastructure.
