Last all-Christian village under Palestinian Authority calls on US citizens, permanent residents to prep for lawsuit

The Taybeh municipality, the sole all-Christian village under Palestinian Authority control, announced on September 1 its intention to file a civil lawsuit in the United States. The lawsuit seeks damages related to alleged “settler violence” and targets American organizations that reportedly fund such actions. The municipality urged American citizens and permanent residents in Taybeh to register any incidents of attacks or property damage for inclusion in the case, stating, “Please come to the municipality to register your names and the damage you have incurred.” The Palestinian-American organization Olive Branch Funding Group, represented by lawyer Jonathan Kuttab, is prepared to cover the legal expenses. Kuttab is also a co-founder of Al-Haq, which was sanctioned by the U.S. State Department in September for its involvement with the International Criminal Court regarding Israeli nationals.
