Lebanese security detains alleged Israeli spy inside Hezbollah network

Lebanese security forces arrested an alleged Israeli agent in Beirut last week, a judicial source told AFP on Tuesday. The suspect, who had close ties to Hezbollah, is accused of providing Israel with precise information that led to the assassination of several Hezbollah officials, including four top-tier security leaders. The official stated, "He was very close to commanders in Hezbollah, and possessed a wide range of information due to his relationship with them." He was apprehended at Beirut’s international airport while attempting to depart for Iraq, from where he allegedly traveled to Turkey to meet with Israeli Mossad agents. Lebanon has frequently conducted counter-espionage operations, with dozens arrested in recent years for suspected collaboration with Israeli intelligence.
