Lebanese Shiite scholar says Hezbollah brought 'destruction' and 'hatred' to Lebanon

Lebanese Shiite scholar Sheikh Muhammad al-Fu'ani, currently in exile, stated in an N12 News interview that Hezbollah has brought "destruction to Lebanon, and made us the object of hatred and disgust." He claims Iran has "brainwashed" a segment of the Lebanese Shiite population into supporting the organization, while another group consists of "mercenaries" ready to abandon it. Fu'ani believes Hezbollah's situation is complicated due to past losses, leading to resentment among those who suffered. He expressed optimism about Hezbollah's eventual disarmament, drawing parallels to the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. Addressing Israelis, Fu'ani emphasized that "originally there is no enmity between us and you" and urged for good relations with the Lebanese people, separate from Hezbollah.
