Lebanon can sign Abraham Accords once Hezbollah is disarmed, Sunni MP says

Lebanese Sunni MP Fouad Makhzoumi stated that Lebanon could join the Abraham Accords and establish diplomatic and trade relations with Israel once Hezbollah is disarmed and can no longer use the country as a "launching pad" for attacks. He emphasized that Lebanon's economic recovery and future growth depend on tackling corruption and dismantling Hezbollah's "parallel state." Makhzoumi believes that restoring investor confidence requires a fair regulatory framework, a single military force, and one law applied equally to all, alongside peace with Israel. He is in discussions with potential investors for southern Lebanon and hopes new investment will encourage the Lebanese diaspora to return, provided there is a stable state where they can "live happily under the law, and not to be threatened by Hezbollah or by any other militia."
