Likud demands prohibition on freely hosting citizens flying to Israel for election – report

The Likud party has asked the Election Committee to prohibit Israelis from freely hosting or providing logistical support to citizens flying into the country to vote, Channel 12 reported. Likud's legal adviser, Ilan Bombach, stated this measure aims to prevent bribery and undue influence on voters. This follows earlier reports from Haaretz that the Transportation Ministry, led by Minister Miri Regev, was unofficially discussing limiting flights to prevent Israelis from returning to vote, fearing they would support opposition parties. MK Efrat Rayten (The Democrats) warned that any such restrictions would be challenged in the High Court of Justice. The Association for Civil Rights in Israel also appealed to relevant officials, demanding immediate action to halt any initiative that could impair citizens' ability to reach Israel and vote.
