Likud primaries to continue as usual, despite talks of cancellation due to security concerns

The Likud Court has rejected a proposal to allow the party to cancel its primaries during a security emergency, ahead of Monday's Likud convention. The court emphasized that postponing the primaries should be the preferred option in such situations and that the party must prepare for electronic voting. The ruling stated, "There is no place to open in advance even the smallest door to canceling the primaries. This is not the way of the Likud movement. Likud is not a one-man party, and it will lose its vitality if it becomes one." Additionally, the court approved the chairman's authority to move a primary-elected candidate to a reserved spot and authorized the placement of a New Hope candidate on the party list, provided it minimizes harm to Likud candidates.
