Limmud LA to return in 2027 with more than 100 Jewish learning sessions

Limmud LA will return to Los Angeles from January 16-18, 2027, during Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, offering over 100 sessions on Jewish religion, culture, history, and contemporary life. The festival, which expects more than 1,000 participants, will begin with a Saturday night celebration followed by two full days of programming. Organizers have issued a call for presenters, inviting community members and experts to propose sessions, embodying the Limmud principle that "every participant can be both a student and a teacher."

The Jewish world needs more places where people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives can come together with curiosity, humility and a genuine desire to learn from one another.

The 2027 festival will honor Alex Shwarzstein, a former co-chair of Limmud NY, and aims to continue her commitment to pluralistic Jewish learning. Major sponsors include the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and the Alex Shwarzstein Foundation.
