Lindsey Graham’s sister chosen to fulfill remainder of his US Senate term

Darline Graham Nordone, sister of the late US Senator Lindsey Graham, has been appointed to temporarily fill his Senate seat for the remainder of his term, which concludes in January. Governor Henry McMaster announced Nordone's appointment on Monday, making her the first woman to represent South Carolina in the Senate. Nordone expressed her honor, stating, "Lindsey has always been there for me. And now, I will be there for him." Graham died on Saturday night at 71 from an aortic dissection. A special election will be held next month to determine a new Republican nominee for the general election, with several prominent Republicans eyeing the open seat.
