On July 25, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, rejected the EU's human rights concerns regarding Iran as "outright hypocrisy." Concurrently, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kazakhstan, discussing bilateral relations and regional developments. Araghchi attributed insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz to "US treachery and crimes against Iran."
