Mamdani's bot army needs a full investigation, not social media outrage – editorial
The accounts showed suspiciously unusual activity, with some recording more than 500 posts a day and another logging 955 reshares in a single day, all traced to City Hall infrastructure.
Cyber analysts presented findings to the World Zionist Organization's Department for Combating Antisemitism, alleging that dozens, possibly hundreds, of X/Twitter accounts are amplifying content from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his circle in non-human patterns. These accounts show 96% to 100% repeated sharing with no original content, with some resharing the mayor's material at 98-100%. Analysts are "100% sure" the IP addresses trace to City Hall infrastructure. The data does not identify who controls or funds these accounts, or if the mayor's office directed the activity. The WZO is requesting federal law enforcement investigation, while the National Jewish Advocacy Center is approaching the Department of Investigation and the Conflicts of Interest Board, requesting city server logs. City Hall has not responded to requests for comment. This comes as anti-Jewish hate crimes in NYC have risen, accounting for 56.9% of all hate crimes in the first seven months of the year, despite overall crime rates decreasing.
