Man arrested after incendiary device explodes outside NYC federal building

A man was arrested on Monday after detonating an incendiary device outside 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan, a building housing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices and an immigration court. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. when the suspect poured an unknown liquid, placed fireworks on it, and ignited them, causing a small fire. He was also armed with a pellet gun. Two individuals, a federal employee and a civilian, sustained minor injuries and were treated and released. The FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident, though the suspect's identity and motive have not been released.
