Security-camera footage from the scene appeared to show a gunman approach two men standing in a parking area, briefly speak with them, and then open fire at close range.
A man in his 40s was arrested overnight Sunday in connection with a fatal shooting in Netivot that occurred Saturday night. The incident, reported shortly after 9:30 p.m., resulted in one man's death and another 29-year-old man sustaining a light leg wound. Security camera footage reportedly showed a gunman approaching two men, speaking briefly, and then opening fire. Police believe the shooting was criminally motivated. The investigation has been assigned to the Negev Central Unit, and the suspect is scheduled to appear before a judge at the Beersheba Magistrate's Court on Sunday for a detention extension request.
