Mansour Abbas' Ra'am party to hold first ever primary election for Knesset candidates

Ra'am, led by MK Mansour Abbas, announced on Sunday that it will hold its first-ever primary elections for Knesset candidates on August 22. This move is part of the party's organizational preparations and aims to strengthen its institutions, expand membership, and deepen its public presence within Arab society. The party stated the conference represents a "significant organizational and political milestone." Ra'am accused the current government of "unprecedented racist policies and practices" and seeks to replace it with one in which Ra'am would be an active partner. Ra'am is now the fourth Israeli party to hold primaries, joining The Democrats, Religious Zionist Party, and Likud.
