MDA reports three people died, 3,322 people were treated during Yom Kippur

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that its teams treated 3,322 people and evacuated 2,268 to hospitals nationwide during Yom Kippur. Three people died, with two fatalities from traffic accidents and one from a violent incident. Among those treated, 368 experienced fasting-related issues, and 299 were injured in bicycle and scooter accidents. MDA also transported 155 women in labor, with five delivering on-site, and supplied 152 units of blood.

• Approximately 95 children were admitted to Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital, nearly half due to bicycle/scooter trauma.
• A two-year-old boy sustained serious burns covering 60% of his body after a gas canister exploded on Yom Kippur eve and is currently in pediatric ICU.
• Firefighters extinguished a forest fire in Carmel Park near Daliyat al-Karmel, preventing it from threatening local residents. A spokesperson stated, “Due to the rapid response and their familiarity with the terrain, the firefighters…successfully contained the fire.”
