Minnesota’s Democratic nominee is an Israel critic, but she is not El-Sayed 2.0

Peggy Flanagan, Minnesota's Democratic nominee for Senate, defeated a pro-Israel incumbent, Rep. Angie Craig, and is favored to win the general election. While she criticizes Israel, accusing it of genocide and opposing offensive weapons sales, she differs from Michigan's Abdul El-Sayed by supporting defensive weapons like the Iron Dome and a two-state solution. Flanagan has unequivocally condemned antisemitism, stating, "Our Jewish communities are facing unprecedented levels of violence and threats." She also denounced the vandalism of Temple Israel in Minneapolis, saying, "Hate has no home in Minnesota." However, some Jewish Democrats expressed concern over her singling out AIPAC during her campaign. Flanagan, supported by figures like Bernie Sanders and Ilhan Omar, will face Republican Michele Tafoya in November.
