Moldova's foreign ministry condemns violation of airspace, explosion of aerial object

Moldova's foreign ministry condemned a serious violation of its airspace on Monday after an unidentified aerial object entered its territory at 17:37 local time and exploded near Talmaza, close to the Ukrainian border. The explosion caused a grass fire but no casualties. The ministry stated, "This incident constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and poses a direct risk to the safety of our citizens." Moldova, which borders Ukraine, has experienced previous incidents involving drones and debris. Separately, Romania's Defense Ministry reported that a NATO F-18 fighter shot down a suspected Russian drone over Romanian airspace on Sunday, marking the fourth such incident this year.
