Mossad Director Gofman removes two senior officials over failure to replace Iranian regime – report

Mossad Director Roman Gofman has reportedly removed two senior officials, the head of the Intelligence Directorate and the head of the Iran division, due to the failure of a plan to replace Iran's regime. N12 reported that these officials conceived a secret Mossad-CIA proposal involving Kurdish ground forces entering Iran with Israeli and American air cover to facilitate a change in leadership. The plan, presented to then-US President Donald Trump, was not implemented as intended. The New York Times previously reported that former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was a candidate to lead Iran under this plan, which reportedly began to unravel after an Israeli airstrike on his residence intended to free him from house arrest.
