Mossad reveals plot by Iranian intelligence to infiltrate Israel, target top officials

Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, in cooperation with the Shin Bet and other international services, revealed details of a thwarted Iranian plot to infiltrate Israel and target senior officials. The operation exposed a network where Iranian intelligence officers recruited criminal intermediaries to form operational cells. These cells were intended to enter Israel, gather intelligence, and execute attacks. The Mossad stated that Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have intensified efforts to conduct attacks inside Israel, often using criminal organizations as proxies to obscure direct involvement. The investigation identified French resident Servet Ozkur, known as “Philippe,” as a key recruiter, who was himself recruited by Baba Hajijafan (“Babak”) and Mehmet Nedim Yigit (“Nedim”), operating from Iran under Iranian intelligence protection. Four Iranian intelligence officers were identified as being behind the operation.
