Most Lebanese say Hezbollah’s weapons harm national security, survey finds – poll
Only 11% of the respondents said they believed Hezbollah’s armed presence improved Lebanon’s security, with many declining to answer the question.
A YouGov survey, published last month by the Council for a Secure America, found that 51% of Lebanese participants believe Hezbollah's armed presence harms Lebanon's national security. Only 11% thought it improved security. The survey, conducted in May among 260 Lebanese civilians, also revealed that 58% support President Joseph Aoun's efforts to strengthen the Lebanese Army and disarm Hezbollah, although this is a slight decrease from 63% in January.
