Nearly one-fifth of citizens considered leaving Israel over past two years, KAN poll finds

A recent KAN News poll indicates that 18% of Israelis have considered emigrating in the past two years, with one-third knowing someone who has left during that period. The poll also found that 12% of respondents would base their emigration decision on the upcoming election results. While 46% were not worried about the number of people leaving, 41% expressed concern, with a significant split between coalition and opposition voters. MK Gilad Kariv warned of a “tsunami” of emigration, citing a Tel Aviv University study based on Central Bureau of Statistics data, which revealed that over 90,000 Israelis left the country for three or more consecutive months in 2025 alone, a substantial increase compared to a decade ago.
