Nearly one-third of young Americans view Jews as a threat to society — poll

A recent survey by the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate, conducted in March and April, reveals a significant increase in antisemitic sentiment among young Americans. Nearly one-third (29%) of respondents aged 18-44 view Jews as a “threat to the unity of American society,” compared to 13% of those over 60. Among 18-29 year olds, 13% believe Jewish people “cause problems in the world,” and only 52% of Gen Z respondents affirm Israel's right to exist. The survey also found a rise in the number of Americans who believe Jews should handle antisemitism on their own, from 40% to 55% since June 2023. While 46% of Americans now see antisemitism as a major problem, only 16% are motivated to take action against it. The proportion of "haters" increased from 6% to 14%, while "allies" dropped from 15% to 6%.
