Netanyahu to travel to New York for UN General Assembly, to give address on September 24

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to New York from September 23-25 to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where he is scheduled to deliver an address on September 24. This visit follows New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's recent retraction of his long-standing promise to have Netanyahu arrested upon arrival in the city. Mamdani, who has previously called Netanyahu "a war criminal who was committing a genocide in Gaza," admitted in July that he lacks the legal authority to enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant. Netanyahu's last UNGA address in 2025 criticized Western countries for recognizing Palestinian statehood, stating, "murdering Jews pays off.”
