New data ranks Israeli cities' breast-cancer screening rates

Kiryat Motzkin leads Israeli cities in breast cancer mammography screening rates, with 75.5% of eligible women undergoing the checkup, according to 2025 data from Clalit Health Services. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Israel, accounting for approximately one-third of new cases annually. Following Kiryat Motzkin, Rahat, Givatayim, Herzliya, and Nahariya also showed high screening rates. Conversely, Beitar Illit had the lowest rate at 52.8%, with Umm al-Fahm, Bnei Brak, and Yavne also recording low participation. Professor Doron Netzer, head of Clalit’s Medical Division, stated, “Awareness and participation in screening programs are key components of preventive medicine.”
