New international initiative to combat antisemitism announced by Israel's UN ambassador

Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon launched a new international initiative on Wednesday to combat rising antisemitism worldwide. The program aims to transform condemnations into coordinated international action by identifying emerging threats and developing tools and policies to counter them. Danon stated, "The words 'Never Again' were not meant to be a slogan. They were meant to be a commitment." He urged the prioritization of this fight in the upcoming UN secretary-general election and called for more countries to join, emphasizing that it is the responsibility of the entire international community. US Ambassador to the UN Jeff Bartos described the situation as "a global pandemic of antisemitism," while EU Coordinator Katharina von Schnurbein called the need for Jews to hide their identity "fully unacceptable."
