No. 43: William Daroff: Bringing American Jews to the table
Daroff has become one of the key figures trying to keep the American Jewish community at the same table because of his wide-ranging expertise and experience.
William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, is a highly influential figure in the American Jewish community. He leads an umbrella organization representing 50 national Jewish groups, focusing on building consensus, strengthening US-Israel relations, combating antisemitism, and promoting Jewish communal security. Daroff maintains regular contact with the White House and Congress, and has testified before various legislative bodies. In the past year, amid the Iran-Israel conflict and rising antisemitism, he has remained central to American Jewish advocacy. He led a delegation to Azerbaijan in February 2026 to discuss Israel-Azerbaijan ties and regional security, and in June, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to discuss Middle East peace, stability, and bilateral relations. Daroff emphasizes that US Jews “shouldn’t hide their Jewish identity.”
