North American aliyah hits record month as over 1,100 olim arrive, with 4,000 expected in 2026

Nefesh B'Nefesh announced a record-breaking month for North American aliyah, with over 1,100 immigrants arriving in Israel. This surge contributes to an expected total of over 4,000 North American olim by the end of 2026, making it one of the organization's strongest years. The summer alone anticipates over 2,200 arrivals, including approximately 1,100 singles, 480 families, and 250 retirees, with ages ranging from five months to 98 years old. Marc Rosenberg, Nefesh B'Nefesh's Vice President of Diaspora Partnerships, noted a significant increase in interest, with aliyah numbers rising 3-5% annually, and highlighted parents' desire to raise children in Israel as a key driver, stating, “They want to be a part of the project that built Israel.” Aliyah and Integration Minister Ofir Sofer and Jewish Agency chairman Maj.-Gen. (res.) Doron Almog both expressed inspiration at the number of young people and families choosing Israel.
