NYPD probing two attacks, of oil thrown at Queens synagogues, as hate crimes

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is investigating two separate incidents where bags of oil were thrown at synagogues in Queens, New York, as hate crimes. The attacks occurred around 11:00 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. at Young Israel of Jamaica Estates and Young Israel of Holliswood, both Orthodox congregations. Rabbi Moshe Taub of Young Israel of Holliswood stated, "We will continue to daven and to be proud Americans." He also expressed concern that the mayor's response to crime victims seemed insufficient. No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing; no injuries were reported.
