'One in six attacks': Israel was most targeted nation by hacktivism campaigns in first half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, Israel was the world's most targeted nation for hacktivist attacks, accounting for 16% of all campaigns with 784 recorded claims, according to the Radware H1 2026 Global Threat Report. The United States and the United Kingdom followed with 8% and 7% respectively. A significant spike in these attacks occurred during the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, despite overall hacktivism being at a record low compared to previous years, with the peak having been reached after October 7th and the start of the Israel-Hamas War. Ron Meyran, VP of Cyber Intelligence at Radware, stated, "The most significant finding is not merely that Israel once again ranks first, but that the gap between it and the other countries continues to widen." Most active groups were from the pro-Russia, anti-Western collective, with NoName057 responsible for nearly 40% of attacks, primarily targeting governmental institutions (37%) and critical infrastructure to disrupt autonomous system numbers (ASNs).
