Palestinians increasingly favoring ‘peaceful negotiations’ over ‘armed resistance’ – poll
More than half of Palestinians (55.8%) now view peaceful negotiations as the best way to achieve their national goals, a significant increase from 2023, when only 28% said the same.
A recent poll conducted by the Jerusalem Media and Communications Center and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung indicates a significant shift in Palestinian public opinion, with a growing preference for peaceful negotiations over armed resistance. The survey, which included 1,200 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip from August 20-25, found that 55.8% now favor peaceful negotiations, a substantial increase from 28% in 2023. Conversely, only 13.3% view "armed resistance" as the most effective method, down from 37.1% in 2023.
