Petah Tikva man indicted for rape after allegedly posing as Nova festival survivor
Prosecutors say the 22-year-old ignored the woman's repeated objections, forced his way into her Petah Tikva apartment, and sexually assaulted her. They asked that he remain in custody pending trial.
A 22-year-old Petah Tikva man, Adiel Eliyahu Michael Cohen, was indicted by the Central District Court on Monday for rape and indecent acts. The indictment alleges Cohen met the complainant while she was walking her dog, then harassed her and forced his way into her apartment after she refused his advances. He allegedly claimed to be a Nova music festival survivor to gain her sympathy, leading her to agree to meet him outside her building, at which point he forced entry. Once inside, he allegedly sexually assaulted her despite her repeated objections. The State Attorney's Office requested Cohen remain in custody, stating he "poses a high level of danger" to the public, especially women.
