Pioneer families put down roots in new Samaria community of Ebal

Twelve pioneering families, including Noam and Na’ama Ozeri, have established the new community of Ebal on Mount Ebal in northern Samaria. This development, which includes a new agricultural yeshivah, aims to strengthen the region and is part of a broader plan by the Samaria Regional Council to advance 19 new communities. The Ozeris, who moved from Peduel, believe this step contributes to the redemption of the Land of Israel, with Noam stating, “We (the Jewish people) waited and prayed for this moment for 2,000 years.”

• The community currently faces challenges such as unpaved roads, lack of gas hookups, and reliance on truck-delivered water, though electricity is solar-powered.
• Ebal's strategic location north of Shechem (Nablus) provides Israeli control over Mount Ebal, enhancing security and allowing access to sites like Joshua’s Altar.
• Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan stated, “This is a great moment for every Zionist who loves this land—to see a new community being born in the State of Israel.”
• The community's synagogue is uniquely aligned with both Joseph’s Tomb and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
