Police arrest suspect in connection to pair of Monticello synagogue break-ins

A 33-year-old woman, Adalis Rodriguez-Valentin, has been arrested and charged in connection with two synagogue burglaries in Monticello, Sullivan County, New York. Police responded to a break-in in progress at the Pine Knoll Bungalow Colony on Forestburgh Road last Thursday at approximately 2 a.m. after surveillance systems detected two individuals. Officers apprehended Rodriguez-Valentin after a foot pursuit, though her alleged accomplice evaded capture. Investigators linked her to an earlier break-in at a synagogue on Wood Avenue through surveillance footage. She faces two counts of third-degree burglary and was released on her own recognizance after arraignment. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still searching for the second suspect.
