Police claim to solve murder of Yanis Yushayev, prosecutor's declaration filed against Hazon man

Police announced they have solved the murder of Yanis Yushayev, 41, who was shot dead last month at a Caesarea gas station. A prosecutor's declaration was filed against the main suspect, Doron Weizman, 54, from Hazon, who has a criminal record. The investigation, opened on August 23, involved covert and overt activities, utilizing technological, intelligence, and forensic methods. While several suspects were initially arrested, only Weizman remains in custody, suspected of being the shooter. Police believe Yushayev's enemies conspired to kill him, but direct involvement in planning could not be proven for other suspects, including the son of Yushayev's rival, whose DNA was found in the killers' vehicle. Weizman has maintained his right to silence. The Haifa District Attorney's Office is expected to file an indictment against him soon and request his continued detention.
