Police close in on Eldar Dayan's final moments after suspect begins providing information
One of two suspects arrested after Eldar Dayan’s disappearance has begun speaking to investigators as police seek to establish the circumstances of his death.
Police are closing in on the final moments of Eldar Dayan, whose remains were discovered Thursday near Yarkon Junction in Petah Tikva, approximately 50 meters from where he was last seen on July 18. Two suspects, friends of Dayan, had their detention extended by seven days. After initially remaining silent, one suspect began providing information to investigators, who stated, "In the coming days, we will know exactly what happened in the final moments of the late Eldar Dayan." Dayan, a Dimona resident, was last seen at a gas station, and his remains were found by a police dog. Investigators are awaiting forensic results to determine the cause and time of death and are examining items found at the scene, including two motorcycle helmets and the abandoned vehicle the three men traveled in.
