Poll shows Eisenkot with significant lead over Netanyahu as preferred PM; Knesset blocs static

A recent Channel 12 poll indicates former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot leads Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the preferred candidate for prime minister, with 43% favoring Eisenkot compared to Netanyahu's 34%. Despite this, the survey shows the pro- and anti-Netanyahu blocs remain largely static, with the anti-Netanyahu bloc projected to win 59 seats and the pro-Netanyahu bloc 51, both short of a 61-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset. Eisenkot's party, Yashar, would secure 23 seats, while Netanyahu's Likud would get 22. The poll also revealed that 62% of respondents oppose Netanyahu's deal with Haredi parties regarding Torah study and draft evasion in exchange for support on other legislation.
