Prosecutors signal indictment over vandalism attacks on Justice Ministry, Israeli media outlets

Prosecutors have signaled their intent to indict a Ramat Gan man in his 40s for suspected involvement in five incidents of property damage and extortion by threats against Israeli media outlets and the Justice Ministry. The man was arrested on July 30 after a weeks-long investigation. Police allege he threw bricks at the entrances of Channel 12, Haaretz, Israel Hayom, and the Justice Ministry in July, aiming to intimidate and influence news coverage. One incident at Channel 12 on July 28 involved a threatening letter demanding an apology for coverage of the Sde Teiman affair, stating, “Until you apologize over the Sde Teiman affair, I am not stopping.” Police found clothing and other evidence linking him to the offenses during a search of his home.
