Rabbi Dov Lando attacks religious Zionists over 'honor' wars not for protection

Rabbi Dov Lando, spiritual leader of the ultra-Orthodox Degel Hatorah faction, recently criticized religious Zionists, accusing them of initiating wars for "honor" rather than for Israel's protection. He stated, "It's simply murder. So they're inciting to murder, that's what they're doing." Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Lando's remarks, emphasizing that IDF soldiers, including religious, secular, and ultra-Orthodox, risk their lives to defend Israel and deserve "deep appreciation, gratitude, and full support." Degel Hatorah subsequently warned Netanyahu against attacking their spiritual leader. Earlier, Lando had also instructed haredi students not to cooperate with the IDF or respect drafting orders, citing a High Court ruling that he believes has "declared war against the world of Torah."
