Rapper ‘The Shadow’ removed as police volunteer amid investigation

Rapper Yoav Eliasi, known as "The Shadow," was removed from his volunteer position as commander of a civilian emergency response squad in Tel Aviv following a criminal investigation by the Police Internal Investigations Department. The investigation stems from an August 5 report and recordings where Eliasi allegedly boasted about his police connections, stating, "I am educating them there in the police that you can't touch this club." He was questioned under caution for breach of trust and barred from police facilities. Three police officers were also questioned for allegedly providing favorable treatment to a nightclub owned by Eliasi's brother. Eliasi claims his volunteer activity was merely suspended pending the investigation's outcome, not a permanent removal.
