Reporters Without Borders removes Gazan terror operatives from its official media casualty database

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has removed at least two Gazan terror operatives, Mohammad Jarghoun and Mohamed Nasr Abu Huwaidi, from its database of Palestinian media workers killed in the Israel-Hamas War. This action followed revelations by HonestReporting, later verified by The Jerusalem Post, that these individuals had ties to terrorist organizations. Jarghoun, initially identified as a reporter for Smart Media, was later announced as a member of Hamas's Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. Huwaidi, described by RSF as a journalist, was identified by Al-Quds Brigades as a commander in its Central Military Media Unit and had participated in combat, leading the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) to also remove him from their database. HonestReporting's audit suggests that over 25% of the remaining journalists in RSF's database may still have terror ties. RSF has since added a methodology note to its article, stating it "updates this registry on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available."
